Hello again....

Wow!

I can't believe I haven't blogged anything for quite some time. And I have had stuff to blog about...just no access and little time.
We are back from Jamaica and I am happy to report we had an absolutely fabulous time. We stayed at Sandals in Whitehouse, Jamaica. All inclusive. Drinks, food, entertainment...not the spa :( We shared our vacation with the Mortons and Koudelkas.
Great friends, great times. Sounds a bit cliche'. But it just was exactly that. I'm off to run errands and just run period. More on Jamaica tomorrow. I am computered out. But I wanted to share my newest screensaver with y'all. We were surrounded by the hurricane clouds that were hanging in the Carribean last week. (except for the last day of course, that day--not a cloud in the sky) There were brief scattered showers everyday. Then, the sky would clear and everyone would head back to the beach, or the pool, or the bar in the pool. I think this saved us from becoming sunburnt beyond repair. And I love clouds anyway. Makes for an unbelievable sky and beautiful dramatic sunsets. The kind of sunset where you notice everyone stopping to watch, or running to get their cameras and gazing in amazement while they have renewed sense that God is all his glory is right before them. Clouds make for that kind of sky. I was lucky enough to usually have my camera with me just about all the time. (geez, can you tell I haven't typed here in a while...I did just say I had to go, didn't I?) Anyway, here is the sky I was speaking of....more tomorrow. And just in case you forgot...I would love to know you stopped by. Have a "cloud in the sky" day.

Happy friday!

One more favorite from the wedding...

And for a happy Friday, some quick little things I discovered yesterday while shopping. Old Navy is a great place to go for some quick casual summer clothes. Now this is probably not news to you, but they are having a great sale right now. Shorts for under $13.00, and they're really cute. They also have great oil diffusers. I bought the Island Lime-again, just $12.00 and my entire downstairs smells like a tropical retreat! It's putting me in a vacation mood. And if you like soft, comfortable, cropped summer pants, go to Costco my friends. They have really cute Hurley cropped pants for about $16.00. I'm going back today to get some different colors.
That's about it for now. Time to head outside and enjoy this perfectly sunny day. Have a fabulous weekend!

Cayucos Wedding

So, one of the very first things planned to do with my month was the wedding of Jordi and Kirsten up north in Cayucos.  We spent the weekend in Pismo Beach and stayed at The Cottage Inn by the Sea.  They get 5 stars from me for moving us to a oceanfront room and it is a pet friendly place, so we were able to bring the spoiled dog.  It you ever need a nice play to stay,  I highly recommend it.   Great service and really good continental breakfast, too. Enough about that. On to the reason we were there.   What else can I say but "Wow!"  What a wonderful event! The wedding was beautifully quaint, one of the most original weddings I have ever seen. Everything about it just fit them like a glove. It was held at the Cayucos Creek Barn. Immediately after the wedding, guests settled in to games of horseshoes and volleyball. There were fire pits outside for toasting marshmallows and smores buckets at each table. When the dancing began, there was little room on the floor.   Just about everyone was up for the line dancing lessons. It looked like a scene right out of a movie.  I had to move to a chair to try to get pictures of this. Jordi and Kirsten were having a blast. And now, honeymooning it up down in Mexico. Congratulations!! What a perfect start for the rest of your lives together!
Here is just a super quick peek of the day....more to follow later.

PS If you want to leave a comment to let me know you stopped by, I wouldn't mind at all. In fact, I love comments!
Have a wonderful day!!

Some well deserved rest...

I did it. I finally did it. I have always wanted to take an extended leave from work. And even this is not as extended as I would like, but it's a start. One month. One month off. I have had people ask me, "Wow, what will you do with a whole month off?" The answer. A lot. Nothing. Anything I want. It feels good. Really good. I'll be working on my business, catching up with projects, throwing my board in the ocean ( maybe try to stand on it ), and just do a little relaxing. This is day one. It is going REALLY well so far. Kona likes it too. He is teaching me how to relax.
One month off....here we come.

edit to add:  really looking forward to some extra time w/ the man!
