Happy friday!
One more favorite from the wedding...
And for a happy Friday, some quick little things I discovered yesterday while shopping. Old Navy is a great place to go for some quick casual summer clothes. Now this is probably not news to you, but they are having a great sale right now. Shorts for under $13.00, and they're really cute. They also have great oil diffusers. I bought the Island Lime-again, just $12.00 and my entire downstairs smells like a tropical retreat! It's putting me in a vacation mood. And if you like soft, comfortable, cropped summer pants, go to Costco my friends. They have really cute Hurley cropped pants for about $16.00. I'm going back today to get some different colors.
That's about it for now. Time to head outside and enjoy this perfectly sunny day. Have a fabulous weekend!

Cayucos Wedding
So, one of the very first things planned to do with my month was the wedding of Jordi and Kirsten up north in Cayucos. We spent the weekend in Pismo Beach and stayed at The Cottage Inn by the Sea. They get 5 stars from me for moving us to a oceanfront room and it is a pet friendly place, so we were able to bring the spoiled dog. It you ever need a nice play to stay, I highly recommend it. Great service and really good continental breakfast, too. Enough about that. On to the reason we were there. What else can I say but "Wow!" What a wonderful event! The wedding was beautifully quaint, one of the most original weddings I have ever seen. Everything about it just fit them like a glove. It was held at the Cayucos Creek Barn. Immediately after the wedding, guests settled in to games of horseshoes and volleyball. There were fire pits outside for toasting marshmallows and smores buckets at each table. When the dancing began, there was little room on the floor. Just about everyone was up for the line dancing lessons. It looked like a scene right out of a movie. I had to move to a chair to try to get pictures of this. Jordi and Kirsten were having a blast. And now, honeymooning it up down in Mexico. Congratulations!! What a perfect start for the rest of your lives together!
Here is just a super quick peek of the day....more to follow later.
PS If you want to leave a comment to let me know you stopped by, I wouldn't mind at all. In fact, I love comments!
Have a wonderful day!!

Some well deserved rest...
I did it. I finally did it. I have always wanted to take an extended leave from work. And even this is not as extended as I would like, but it's a start. One month. One month off. I have had people ask me, "Wow, what will you do with a whole month off?" The answer. A lot. Nothing. Anything I want. It feels good. Really good. I'll be working on my business, catching up with projects, throwing my board in the ocean ( maybe try to stand on it ), and just do a little relaxing. This is day one. It is going REALLY well so far. Kona likes it too. He is teaching me how to relax.

My name is Earl.
Just practicing on the dog again. This is his chicken. His name is Earl. His pants are on fire.
I have no idea why. But Kona LOVES him. Guess that is all that matters.

Seventy five...and counting
I had plans for some portraits yesterday, but we had to change the time. No problem. It gave me the opportunity to get some pictures for John at his seventy fifth birthday celebration. If I make it to seventy five, I hope I have a party just like this, surrounded by my closest friends and family.
Happy birthday John!
Thankfully, they didn't choose to light seventy fives candles...
This little guy just loves "cheese",and cameras, and himself on cameras...
Now technically, I might have cropped this differently, but the hat had to be in the frame.
Only a handsome guy can pull off this hat...
Some quick family portraits...kids tire of this really quickly.
And my favorite and very last shot of the day. Somehow, the tenderness of this picture just melts me.
I took one picture just before this. Then, I had asked them just to stand a little closer together and suddenly there was this warm, comfortable smile and the nearness was so much better. Hard to describe it. Hopefully, the picture can.
Thank you all for a wonderful time.

The first One....
Yesterday was the first one. The One Light Workshop with Zack Arias. As I learn more, I really understand how much I have to learn. But I love the process, so that's okay.
Here are a few shots from the day. Special shout out to our beautiful models for the day- Lauren and Melissa It was pretty cold yesterday. They braved the freezing beach in a dress. I was shivering with a jacket on.
I'm so tired right now that I can't think of much else to say about it.
But I feel inspired to be so much better, and that's enough. Below is one of my favorites from the day.
Absolutely beautiful. Can you believe this?
Thanks to Cristina and Spencer for hosting the event.

I'm coming back as a dog....
Wake up, play, drink, run, sniff, swim, eat, lounge(?) and sleep. Wake up- start over.
I'm coming back as a dog.
